The Punjab Kings (PBKS) batting lineup has earned high praise from assistant coach Brad Haddin as the team prepares for their crucial IPL 2025 playoff match against Delhi Capitals. With a potential top-two finish on the line, PBKS will look to continue their strong form when they face DC at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday.
Haddin expressed full faith in his team’s batting unit, highlighting their consistency throughout the tournament.
“Our top order has delivered consistently, Shreyas Iyer has been exceptional at No. 3, and our middle-order finishers like Shashank Singh and Azmatullah Omarzai have stepped up when needed,” Haddin stated.
Haddin clarified that Iyer’s lower-order appearance in the last match was due to a finger injury and confirmed the skipper will return to his preferred No. 3 spot against Delhi Capitals.
Pullquote: “Shreyas has been outstanding—not just as a batter but as a leader. He’ll be back at No. 3 where he belongs.”
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who replaced Lockie Ferguson, made his PBKS debut in the last match. Though he failed with the bat, Haddin backed him to make an impact in the playoffs.
What Marsh Brings to PBKS:
With one game remaining, PBKS must win convincingly and hope other results go their way to secure a top-two spot and direct entry into Qualifier 1.
PBKS have shown they have the batting firepower to compete with the best. If their key players deliver in the must-win clash against DC, they could secure a top-two finish and gain a crucial advantage in the playoffs.
